President of the Surveying & Spatial Sciences Institute, Paul Digney.

Paul Digney has been re-elected as President of the Surveying & Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI) by the national Board for a second one-year term.

Digney has more than 25 years’ experience in the surveying and spatial profession and is passionate about Australia’s geospatial industry.

During his first term as President, Digney has focused on strengthening the SSSI’s value for its members, maintained productive partnerships and ensured the long-term sustainability of SSSI.

“Our next 12-months will focus on change and reform as we strengthen our position as a national peak professional body,” said Digney.

“In order for SSSI to be a modern relevant peak professional body that represents the interests of the entire industry sector we need to contemplate changing the way we do business.

“We need to respond to a rapidly growing and evolving profession and meet the needs and expectations of an industry that is embedded in all parts of society.

“SSSI looks to the future with much optimism.”

No changes were made to the existing SSSI Board composition as all directors up for re-election were appointed for an additional term.
